SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- December 1st is World AIDS Day each year, this year AIDS Project of the Ozarks is hosting two events.

The first event will be held today from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the 319 Event Center on West Walnut. Today's gathering will feature speakers, singers, information and the organization's tradition of the candle-light vigil.

The second event happens tomorrow, December 2nd, on the Missouri State campus from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. APO, SPECTRUM, and the Missouri State Student Activities Council will collaborate to promote awareness. Students can come to the event for a free HIV test and to learn more about prevention.

APO says World AIDS Day gives people an opportunity to unite worldwide in the fight against HIV, to show support for those living with HIV, and to comemmorate people who have died from the disease.
