SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A woman from Springfield is in the Greene County Jail this morning, accused of robbing a Hobby Lobby store and using a knife to threaten store employees.

Katie Deanne Medler, 30, is charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action.

According to documents filed in court to support the charges, Medler allegedly shoplifted more than $70 worth of crafts and jewelry from the Hobby Lobby store on W. Kearney Tuesday.

Store employees followed her into the parking lot after a door alarm went off, the probable cause statement (attached above this story) says.

Three employees told police Medler pulled a knife on them when they confronted her.  Two of the employees say they pushed Medler to the ground and got the knife away from her.

Police took her into custody a short time later.  None of the employees were injured.

Medler is being held at the Greene County Jail on a $10,000 bond under numerous conditions, including her ban on entering the premises of any Hobby Lobby.

A hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
