Woman Arrested in Two-Year-Old Daughter's Death Pleads Not Guilty

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. – The Republic woman accused of causing the death of her two-year-old daughter two years ago has pleaded not guilty.
CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. – The Republic woman accused of causing the death of her two-year-old daughter two years ago has pleaded not guilty.

According to online court documents, Julie Horstmyer, 31, waived a formal arraignment on Nov. 8 and entered a plea of not guilty.

Horstmyer is charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child after her daughter, two-year-old Berklee Robertson, was found dead inside a home in Clever, Mo. in Nov. of 2011.

A grand jury indictment says Horstmyer gave the child Sertraline, or Zoloft, and failed to seek medical assistance.

Bond for Horstmyer has been set for $50,000 cash or surety.

A hearing for Horstmyer is scheduled on January 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.
