UPDATE: Suspect Sought After 2 Officers Shot in Jefferson County, MO

CEDAR HILL, Mo. -- Police are searching for a suspect after two officers were shot in Cedar Hill early Friday morning.
CEDAR HILL, Mo. -- (KMOV)  Police are searching for a suspect after two officers were shot in Cedar Hill early Friday morning.

Authorities said two Jefferson County deputies responded to a home in the 7400 block of Twin Ridge Rd. around 2 a.m. after someone accidentally called 9-1-1.

Upon their arrival they saw people acting suspicious outside the home so they went to check it out. They then noticed a back window was open as if someone had jumped out.

Deputies said the officers went inside the home a short time later and were walking down the steps into the basement when they were ambushed by a suspect who opened fire.

One of the officers, 22-year-old Nina Osa, was shot in calf and suffered a broken leg. The other officer, 43-year-old Michael Toombs, was struck in the arm and shoulder. Both were transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in stable condition.

Dozens of officers from multiple agencies were conducting an organized search effort for the suspect, who was identified as Shawn Nims.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts. Police said he is armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

CEDAR HILL, Mo. --  (KMOV.com)  Two officers are in an unknown condition following an overnight shooting in Jefferson County.

Police report that one officer was shot in the leg and the other in the arm. The officers were transported to a local hospital.

According to authorities, the shooting took place in the 7400 block of Twin Ridge Rd.

No other information was immediately available.
