UPDATE: Springfield Woman Killed in Polk County Rollover Crash

PLEASANT HOPE, Mo. -- Christina M. Ritchie was pronounced dead at the scene of the one-car accident northeast of Pleasant Hope, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
PLEASANT HOPE, Mo. -- A 20-year-old Springfield woman was killed and a man was injured early today in a fiery rollover crash in Polk County.

Christina M. Ritchie was pronounced dead at the scene of the one-car accident northeast of Pleasant Hope, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The crash, about 3:20 a.m. on South Farm Road 237 three miles northeast of Pleasant Hope, occurred as the northbound Pontiac went off the right side of the road, struck an embankement and overturned, the patrol said.

A second passenger in the car, Aaron J. Case, 18, of Halfway, Mo., was flown to Mercy Hospital-Springfield with moderate injuries, according to a patrol crash report. Two other people who were in the car at the time of the crash were not seriously injured.

The driver, Jordan R. Lavoie, 21, of Pleasant Hope, was tested for alcohol consumption, as required by state law, according to the patrol.

The patrol was assisted in its response and investigation of the crash by the Polk County Sheriff's Office and the County Coroner Roy Harms.
