UPDATE: Man Dies in Motorcycle Versus Truck Accident

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Three people were injured in a truck versus motorcycle accident on Hwy. 125, just six miles east of Springfield, Saturday just after 11 a.m. A little after 9 a.m. Sunday, a man died from his injuries.
UPDATE: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James S. David was pronounced dead from his injuries at Mercy Hospital a little after 9 a.m. Sunday.


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Three people were injured in a truck versus motorcycle accident on Hwy. 125, just six miles east of Springfield, Saturday just after 11 a.m., according to a police report.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Gavin W. Lawson, 24, of Walnut Grove, failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, James S. Davis, 44, of Strafford, and his passenger, Roberta A. Elliott, 45, of Mt. Grove, were both seriously injured in the accident and transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

As required by law, Lawson was tested for alcohol.  He was also taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.
