UPDATE: Funeral Arrangements Made for Rolla Firefighter

ROLLA, Mo. – Funeral arrangements have been made for Steve Huffman, a firefighter who died after a single vehicle accident on Interstate 44 near Jerome on Thursday.
ROLLA, Mo. – Funeral arrangements have been made for Steve Huffman, a firefighter who died after a single vehicle accident on Interstate 44 near Jerome on Thursday.


The accident occurred as Huffman was traveling eastbound on the Interstate and traveled off the left side of the road into the median.  Huffman over-corrected his vehicle, returned to the median, ran off the south side of the road and rolled his truck several times down a steep embankment.


According to a press release, funeral services for Huffman will be held Monday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at the James and Gahr funeral home in Rolla.


A full fire department service will be provided with interment at the Roach Cemetery in Doolittle.


Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, Sept. 22 from 3-6 p.m.


Memorials can be made to Firefighter’s Memorial Foundation via City of Rolla Fire and Rescue.


Huffman was a resident of the Doolittle Community and proudly served as a volunteer firefighter and past board member of the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District.  He was employed by the City of Rolla Fire & Rescue for over 19 years and currently served as an Engineer.  He also served as the President of the International Association of Firefighters Local 3905 and was a charter member
