UPDATE: Fire Destroys Tire Shop in Billings, MO

BILLINGS, Mo. - UPDATE: Fire fighters from Billings and Republic have knocked down a fire that destroyed a portion of Helling Tire on U.S. 60 near Billings.
BILLINGS, Mo. -- UPDATE:  Fire fighters from Billings and Republic have largely knocked down a morning blaze that destroyed a portion of Helling Tire on U.S. 60 near Billings.

Traffic on 60 was halted as tankers from both departments arrived at the tire shop at 2567 U.S. 60  in Christian County about halfway between the two towns.

The garage and shop portion of the business was burned, but firefighters were able to save the newer office/warehouse portion of the building that house the tire inventory.

At least two units from Republic were dispatched to assist the Billings Fire Protections District, according to the Republic agency

BILLINGS, Mo. - Fire fighters from Billings and Republic are this morning battling a blaze at Helling Tire on U.S. 60 near Billings.

Traffic on 60 was halted as tankers from both departments arrived at the tire shop in Christian County between the two towns.

At least two units from Republic were dispatched to assist the Billings Fire Protections District, according to the Republic agency.

A  woman who lives near the location said a power line was down behind the burning building, which is near a mobile home park.
