Two Women Arrested for Stealing $10,000 from Parents

MARIOUN COUNTY, Ark. -- Two Yellville women were arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for the theft of $10,000 cash.
MARIOUN COUNTY, Ark. -- Two Yellville women were arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for the theft of $10,000 cash.

According to Marion County Sheriff Roger Vickers, Patricia Mahan, 24, and Megan Decker, 25, were arrested on charges stemming from an investigation concerning the theft of $10,000 in cash from Mahan’s parents.

After being questioned about the theft, Mahan went to her parent’s residence and was involved in a domestic dispute.  She was arrested for disorderly conduct and, upon her arrest, police found a small bag of methamphetamine in her pocket.

Decker, who had reportedly lived with Mahan, was also arrested on a felony warrant for theft by receiving under a $5,000 bond.

During an investigation, it was discovered that Mahan and Decker stole the money and spent it on shopping sprees, motel rooms, drugs and a car, according to Sheriff Vickers.

Mahan was arrested for disorderly conduct, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $15,000.

Decker received an additional theft of property charge, making her bond total to the amount of $15,000.

Mahan and Decker are expected to appear in court on December 11, 2013.
