Two Longtime Missouri Inmates Die

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Two longtime inmates at the state penitentiary have died after each serving more than 30 years in the prison system.

Donald Kroll, 63, had been in prison for burglary, sodomy, and sexual abuse on a 47-year sentence since 1983. He had committed his crimes in Franklin and in St.Louis Counties. The Corrections Department says he died of natural causes.

Buchanan County murderer James Potter was 50. He died at a Jefferson City hospital. The department says foul play is not suspected. Potter was doing life without parole after being sentenced in 1982.
