NEWBURG, Mo. -- Massive flooding two weeks ago left behind serious damage to the majority of roads in Pulaski and Phelps counties.  Today, MoDOT begins repairs on two of the most damaged routes.

MoDOT crews will start work to repair flood-damaged Route T near Newburg in Phelps County and Route H in Waynesville in Pulaski County.

Flooding caused the roadway on Route T to slide and washed away part of Route H.

Route T will close at 7 a.m. today (Wed. Aug. 21) and is scheduled to reopen on Aug. 30.

MoDOT says the detour around the project is Route J to Route P to Route T.

Work on Route H will also start today and is also set to be completed on Aug. 30.  Route H remains closed to all but local traffic.

Motorists are asked to take an alternate route around the project.
