TODAY: Flood Victims Can Apply for SBA Loans

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- Flood victims can begin applying for disaster loans today, for losses from the summer storms in the Ozarks.
WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- Flood victims can begin applying for disaster loans today, for losses from the summer storms in the Ozarks.

The Small Business Administration approved the assistance for 12 Missouri counties.  In the Ozarks, Pulaski, Taney, Camden, Christian, Douglas, Laclede, Ozark, Stone and Texas counties are approved for these loans. 

SBA disaster loans are issued to homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes,and non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment thathave been damaged or destroyed.

"We can offer up to $200,000 to homeowners to make repairs or replace their home," explains Cynthia Cowell with the SBA. "We can lend up to $40,000 to replace personal property, and that includes cars. For businesses we can offer up to $2 million, if a business hasn't suffered physical damage we can also help with economic injury disaster loans."

SBA workers will be at two locations today to give out applications and answer questions. Those locations are:

  • The old Waynesville Middle School from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Hollister City Hall from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
