Suspects in Sexual Assault Plead Innocent

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Two Saudi men accused of kidnapping a woman and sexually assaulting her at an apartment pleaded not guilty Monday.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Two Saudi men accused of kidnapping a woman on June 1 and sexually assaulting her at an apartment pleaded not guilty Monday and were scheduled to return to the courtroom for pre-trial conference on Nov. 11.

Ahmed Alanazi, 27, and Rayan Alqabbaa, 21, entered the pleas and were returned to custody at Greene County Jail. They are being held in lieu of $1 million bond because they're considered to be flight risks.

According to court documents, a cab driver called police early on the morning of June 1 to report the men who'd allegedly kidnapped the woman from Zan Nightclub at 311 S. Patton Ave.

The driver told police he dropped the suspects and the woman who was "in and out of consciousness" off at the Deep Elm apartment complex at 701 E. Elm Street.

Officers say they arrived to hear the victim moaning. Once inside, they found the woman crying on a bed, partially clothed, asking for help. Surveillance video, police say, showed the men carrying an injured woman into the apartments.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She told police she remembered getting free drinks, being surrounded by a group of men, but nothing else up until she arrived at the apartment.
