Suns Draft Mizzou's Oriakhi

<br>The Phoenix Suns drafted Alex Oriakhi in the second round of last night's NBA draft.

COLUMBIA, Mo--Mizzou point guard Phil Pressey left school early in order to enter the NBA draft.

He hired an agent and forfeited his final year of eligibility.

But no NBA team called his name Thursday night.

Pressey is hoping to sign a free agent deal.

Meanwhile Mizzou teammate Alex Oriakhi did get picked.

In our Tiger Nation report, the Phoenix Suns picked the 6-9 center late in the second round.

Oriakhi was the 57th person picked in the 2013 draft.

Oriakhi transfered for just one year from UConn, he averaged 11 points and nearly eight and a half rebounds a game for the Tigers.

He becomes the fourth Mizzou player picked in the NBA draft since 2009.

Tiger coach Frank Haith says he's proud of the way Oriakhi improved his offense last season and he stands a good chance of making the Suns.
