The Springfield Business Development Corporation says Springfield ranks as the least expensive place to live in Missouri.

 It measured six metros in the state and compared them to 306 urban areas across the country.
When measuring the cost of consumer goods, the survey gave Springfield a composite index of 88 point six with a national average is 100. 

Joplin is the next cheapest place in the state.  Housing was the area where Springfield scored the best in keeping costs low.
