SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A 38-year-old Springfield man identified as a prior and persistent offender and serving probation for earlier offenses has been sentenced to 6 more years in prison in connection with a commercial burglary last April.

Springfield officers caught Nathaniel S. Jones on the scene shortly after he stole jewelry and electronics from Absolute Wellness at 3550 N. Glenstone, according to information from Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Cox.

Jones pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Burglary in November.

At the time of his arrest, Jones was serving a five-year probation sentence for committing a string of commercial burglaries in 2011. His sentence for that series of crimes was amended to 12 years in prison, giving Jones a combined 18-year prison sentence.
