Springfield Man Faces Multiple Charges After Police Pursuit

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Brandon Slavens, 30, of Springfield is facing multiple charges after a police chase Jan.24.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of W Farm Rd 146 and S Farm Rd 115 on the afternoon of Jan. 24 when Brandon M. Slavens, the driver of the vehicle refused to stop.

The silver Mercury passenger car that Slavens was driving eluded police and avoided stop sticks while speeding during the chase.

Slavens lost control of the vehicle, crashing it into a tree. He then fled on foot but was apprehended by deputies.

Deputies determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Springfield.

While being transported to the Greene County Jail, Slavens kicked out the window of the patrol car and jumped out. He was again apprehended and taken to the Greene County Jail.

The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Slavens with two counts of Felony Resisting Arrest, one count of Felony Escaping from Custody, one count of Felony 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Felony 2nd Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

Slavens is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $500,000 bond
