SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A well-known Springfield Chef is getting national attention.

James Clary's product was featured on QVC for the first time Wednesday.  QVC is a cable, satellite and broadcast television network specializing in televised home shopping.

Clary created a gourmet souffle that can be made in minutes.  He's been in the food industry since the age of 14.  He came up with the idea of instant souffle seven years ago and developed something called "Gourmet Souflee" with his partner Scott Opfer.

"Gourmet Souffle" is a boxed kit of supplies that allows souffle to be made in under fifteen minutes.

"From taking the package from your cabinet to putting it on the table, it can all be done in under fifteen minutes," Clary says.

KOLR10 sat with Clary today when his product appeared on QVC for the very first time.  He says the ultimate goal is to have his product in retail.

"We'd like to be in every grocery store across the United States," says Clary.  "And QVC is our first stepping stone to reaching that goal."

But the process hasn't been easy.  It's taken years for Clary to get where he is now.

"QVC has an extremely tedious, detailed progress to get on there," he says.  "And it's unlike any other process I've been through," he adds.

Clary is proving one gourmet souffle at a time that we, too, can make our dreams come true.

"There were times I was discouraged," Clary says.  "I think persistence is incredibly important.  Don't ever believe you can't do something."

Clary says he plans to have multiple flavors out soon in addition to the current chocolate flavor.  He hopes to have his product in restaurants and grocery stores across the country in the very near future.
