Skeletal Human Remains Discovered Near Forsyth

FORSYTH, Mo. – Skeletal human remains have been found in a wooded area near Wilderness Rd. north of Forsyth, according to the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.
FORSYTH, Mo. –  Skeletal human remains have been found in a wooded area near Wilderness Rd. north of Forsyth, according to the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found by two hunters on Monday, Nov. 11 at approximately 7:23 p.m.

When deputies arrived, the hunters lead to them about a quarter of a mile into the timber to the remains.

The remains may have been there for a few years, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The area has been processed and all evidence recovered.  The remains have been sent off for identification as well.

The Taney County Sheriff’s Office reports in 2006 a man named Matthew Needham of Fredricktown, Mo. went missing from the area.

Needham was last reported to be walking in the area of Wilderness Rd. after the car he was in caught fire on Casey Rd.

Dental records for Needham are being sent to the Taney County Sheriff’s Office for comparison.
