MARION COUNTY, Ark. -- A northwest Arkansas man, known for stealing cattle, is caught trying to do it again.
MARION COUNTY, Ark. -- A northwest Arkansas man, known for stealing cattle, is caught trying to do it again.

That's according to Marion County Sheriff Roger Vickers who says Billy Rowell, 24, is now behind bars in that county.

The sheriff says Rowell, of Quitman, Ark., was arrested last Tuesday, Sept. 10, in connection with an attempted theft of cattle in Marion County.

Rowell allegedly stole a cattle trailer in Van Buren County, then drove it to Marion County to steal cattle from a rural farm. The sheriff says Rowell couldn't load the cattle, so he left the gates open, abandoned the trailer and then took off. The cattle at that farm roamed freely.

Rowell is charged with Theft by Receiving and Theft of Property. He's held in lieu of $25,000 bond. Sheriff Vickers say Rowell had previously been arrested for similar charges in Van Buren County.

The suspect is due in court Wednesday at 10 a.m.
