Shepherd of the Hills Owner Gary Snadon Dies at 73

BRANSON, Mo. – Branson businessman and owner of Shepherd of the Hills Gary Snadon passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, after a 5-month battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. He was 73.
BRANSON, Mo. – Branson businessman and owner of Shepherd of the Hills Gary Snadon passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, after a 5-month battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. He was 73.

According to a statement, Snadon was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing.

Snadon owned and operated The Shepherd of the Hills Entertainment Group, the parent company for organizations like Thirteen Forty Productions, Club Roark, Emerald Pointe, The Kings Quarters Hotel, Roark Vacation Resort, The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, Branson Hotline, Roark Travel Service Network, Networks by Design, The Woodlands and developer of Emerald Pointe Subdivision. 

Almost any place in Branson holds evidence of the Snadon’s legacy.

He has built and developed several businesses, and is responsible for building The Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, the road that parallels highway 76 and offers visitors a relief from heavy traffic.

“A mighty oak is no more,” says Robin Withrow of Snadon Properties in a statement. “But its saplings have sprouted.”
