SBU Loses Home Opener

Lindenwood beats SBU in home opener.
BOLIVAR, Mo--Southwest Baptist kicked off its first home game of the season Saturday night at Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.

The Bearcats lost to Truman State last week in Kirksville by a field goal.

Saturday night hosting Lindenwood.

Before the game SBU, cut the ribbon on the team's new artifical turf field, and renovated track.

There's a new coach at SBU as well, Craig Schuler who was an assistant at Lindenwood for nine years.

And his old team would score first, the handoff to Marvin Byrd he takes it up the middle, six yards for a touchdown and it's 7-nothing.

SBU answers with quarterback Willie Tindal, rolls right, and scores from a yard out we're tied at seven.

Lindenwood retakes the lead later in the second quarter, the end around to Jaron Alexander, he scampers in from seven yards out it's 14-7 Lions.

Then right before the half, the Bearcats John Colliver boots this 27 yard field goal, it's 14-10 at the half.

But Lindenwood goes onto win 35-27.
