Ruder Excited About Home Debut

Missouri State freshman Austin Ruder is excited about the Bears first home game.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--And it will be a double header of Missouri State athletics Saturday with the mens basketball team making its home debut against Tulsa at 7:00 p.m. at the Q.

Paul Lusk's troops rallied in overtime to beat Old Dominion in Virginia a week ago to open the season.

In that win, Nixa product Austin Ruder made his Missouri State debut.

The freshman was 4 for seven from three point range and scored 14 points.

He hit a big three in the overtime to spark the Bears and pull them to victory.

Ruder's excited about playing at home for the first time as a Bear.

"Hopefully we can get a pretty good crowd out here to support us," said MSU freshman Austin Ruder.  "And pick up a win for the home crowd.  It's going to be nice to get out here after being committed to here for a couple of years and playing in front of everybody.  Picking up our first win of the season after the rough season we had last year was huge for us..."
