Republic's Parks and Recreation Department to Host its First Canine Costume Contest

REPUBLIC, Mo.-- Halloween might have been a couple of days ago but it is not too late for your pet to don their best get-up and enter the 1st ever Canine Costume Contest.

The City of Republic’s Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the event at 2 p.m. today at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) in Republic.  

KOLR 10’s own David Oliver will be among the judges who are responsible for choosing which pet/costume combo should win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. Judges will choose based on ratings in three categories; effort, creativity, and memorability.

Registration on the day of the event is $15, a limited number of contestants will be accepted but admission for spectators is free.
