REEDS SPRING, Mo. -- A small town is shutting down a local landmark instead of starting a series of planned renovations.

The historic WPA building in Reeds Spring has deteriorated in recent years and can no longer be used as a public space.

The City has been brainstorming plans to fix up the building and turn it into a community center, but town leaders placed the project on hold.

The city administrator cites cost issues.

The building is an old school house that the Works Progress Administration built as part of an economic recovery project.
