Police Release Surveillance Video from Weekend Homicide

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police have released security video that captures a black male suspect entering and then fleeing from the alley where a deadly shooting happened Sunday afternoon.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police have released security video that may show the suspect in a deadly shooting over the weekend in southwest Springfield.

Gregory A. Dahmm, 36, of Springfield, was gunned down in an alley near Woodland Street and Campbell Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 18.

The video (watch above) caputures a black male suspect entering and the fleeing from the alley behind the Village Shopping Center located in the 2700 block of S. Campbell.

The surveillance footage is from the approximate time of the shooting. The man appears to be a thin, black male wearing a white shirt and jeans or pants.

Police got a 911 call that led them to Dahmm, who had been shot in the chest. He was rushed to a local hospital, but later died.

Sources told police Dahmm had come from a party at a nearby home when he was shot. According to the police report, Dahmm's address is on W. Edgewood, which is just across Campbell from the scene of the crime.
