SPRINGFILED, Mo. – Springfield police are investigating a meth lab in a motel room after officials were led to the scene while looking to serve a warrant.

According to Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Cox, patrol officers were at the Motel 6 on 2655 N. Glenstone looking for a man with an active warrant.

Police later found the man in Room 150 and discovered an active meth lab in the room.

The man, who has not been formally charged and will remain unnamed, was arrested for the active warrant and for parole violation for manufacturing a controlled substance.

He has since been booked in the Greene County Jail with a court date set for December 12.

While at the scene, police reported that more people arrived at the room in a van.

Though these people claim they were not going to that same room, police found stolen property and meth in the vehicle.

According to Cox, charges against these people may be filed.

More information will be available as soon as it is released.
