Pinkel Proud Of Mizzou's 2013 Season

Mizzou preps for SEC Championship game.
COLUMBIA, Mo--The Mizzou Tigers continue to prepare for Saturday's SEC Championship game in Atlanta against the Auburn Tigers.

Mizzou will come into the game ranked fifth in all the polls while Auburn is ranked third.

The Tigers shocked Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

And Mizzou has won four straight games, including Saturday night's 28-21 win over Texas A&M that gave the Tigers the SEC Eastern conference championship.

Mizzou coach Gary Pinkel was named a finalist for the Maxwell coach of the year award.

And a win Saturday would make him Mizzou's all-time winningest coach moving ahead of the legendary Don Faurot.

"When I took the job here, at the press conference.  I said I wanted the University of Missouri football to build a program that was respected in the league they play in, at the time it was the Big 12, it'd be the SEC for us now, and nationally," said coach Gary Pinkel.  "That's really, really important to me.  And respected not just for winning games, but for graduating players.."

"We set objectives.  These were missions," said Tiger lineman Max Copeland.  "And it wasn't lets go try our darnest.  No, you're going to go get it done.  And do whatever you need to, scratch and claw, whatever you need to do to get it done."

Again a reminder, KOLR 10 is the only place you can see the SEC Championship game Saturday.

Kick off is at 3:00 p.m. our time from the Georgia Dome right here on KOLR 10.
