The Missouri State Lady Bears look to recover from a shock -- and SBU men and women suffer losses.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Sunday the Missouri State Lady Bears opened conference play against one of the top teams in the MVC, the Wichita State Shockers.

Wichita State proved to be too much for the Lady Bears.

The shockers put MSU's four game winning streak to a stop.

Wichita State's Jamillah Bonner scored 25 points in their win as they improve to 10-2 on the season.

As for the Lady Bears, they had streaks of competitive play but couldn't stick with the Shockers for the full game.

Bry Snow lead MSU scoring with 19 points in the teams 98-68 loss.

"I don't really feel like we were warn down. I think we were making mental mistakes on our own. I don't think it was technically anything they were doing, not taking anything they away from them but it was stuff we were doing to ourselves," said Lady Bears guard Tyonna Snow.

"I think that we go out and play one play they are going to do exactly what we ask them to do. As the game goes on what we are asking them to do is continue that level of focus and it's not easy but that is what good teams do and that is what we are trying be," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.

BOLIVAR, Mo--Southwest Baptist hosted Fort Hays State Monday Night.

SBU with the ball and to the open Rashaad Brown-Peterson who drains the three. That makes it 3-0 Bearcats.

Tigers Craig Nicholson sneaks a pass in to Andrew Victoria with the layup. 6-4 Bearcats.

Then, Tigers to the basket. Can't get the first, can't get the tip but on the third try Victoria gets it to go. That cuts the lead to two.

Later, Bearcats kick it out to David Gabrovsek who's money from behind the arc.

But the Bearcats lose this one 91-72 the final.
