SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Ozarks Food Harvest recently earned the highest rating of four stars from Charity Navigator, a nonprofit corporation that evaluates charities in the United States.

The rating shows the organizations commitment to good governance, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability.

According to a news release, Ozarks Food Harvest also received the four-out-of-four star recognition last year, indicating the food bank outperforms most other U.S. charities. Only 18 percent of the charities in the country have received two consecutive four-star evaluations.

The food bank has a 30-year history as a food bank in southwest Missouri and provides food, funds and services to 200 nonprofit hunger-relief organizations, such as food pantries, across 28 Ozarks counties.
