Ozark Man Arrested after Eluding Police, Driving Vehicle into House

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – An Ozarks man is facing three charges after driving into a house early Thursday morning.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – An Ozarks man is facing three charges after driving into a house early Thursday morning.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted to stop a driver suspected of DWI. The vehicle eluded the officer, but was found in a nearby field still occupied by the driver and a passenger.

As the deputy approached the vehicle to arrest the driver, the suspect fled again in the vehicle and disappeared from sight.

Later, another deputy located the suspect vehicle, which had crashed into a house at 5011 S. Burrough St. Occupants in the house were uninjured, but the driver was nowhere to be seen. The passenger of the vehicle was detained at the scene of the accident.

After further investigation, deputies located the driver, identified as David Kryshtal, 21, of Ozark, Mo.

Deputies took Kryshtal into custody and is currently being held in the Greene County Jail on charges of felony resisting arrest by fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident and DWI. He is being held on a bond of $10,000.
