Hollister Grape Fall Festival

Ozarks Bacon Fest: A Tribute to Bacon, Bourbon & Beer

Tickets give guests access to a bacon-infused wonderland, where the Ozark’s best chefs prepare creative bacon snacks. National brands, artisan bacon-makers, and bacon purveyors display, sample, and sell a multitude of bacon and bacon inspired products. The best mixologists and brewers hand out bacon-inspired cocktails, beer and wine. And in honoring bacon in all its glory, Ozarks Bacon Fest will be holding a Bacon Eating Contest, a Best Bacon Recipe contest and a Bacon Art contest.

Come out and enjoy the beginning of the fall season with a outdoor festival, complete with a Springfield Oktoberfest favorite, the Garbonzos. Sample over 100 beers with listening to some good ol' traditional German music. This event is to benefit the Doula Foundation of Mid America.

This festival is held on the Constitution Square of Lamar, Missouri. It was here that Wild West Legend Wyatt Earp first tried his hand at being a lawman; serving as the city's first Constable.  It was here that the Border Wars of the Civil War raged and veterans of that conflict eventually came together to shake hands in peace.  Now the Barton County Chamber wants to invite you and your family to come and experience the fun and excitement of our area & it's rich history.

Courthouse Square - Mount Vernon, MO 65712   

Apple Butter Makin' Days, one of Missouri's most popular festivals, has been held on the courthouse square in Mt. Vernon each October since 1967. The main attraction is apple butter, cooked using century-old methods in huge copper kettles over open fires.  There is also a parade, pet parade, live entertainment all three days, food, games, and crafts being demonstrated. Every year, surrounded by an array of fall colors, the city of Carthage proudly welcomes 80,000+ visitors to this fall celebration. Every year, on the third Saturday of October, the grand finale of the festival begins with the largest parade in Southwest Missouri. The rest of the festival is filled with a variety of activities including a 5K/10K/family fun walk, beauty pageants, baby and toddler contests, dog skill competition, chili cook-off and salsa competition, gospel sing, and a lip-syncing competition. Currently in its 47th year, the Maple Leaf Festival offers family style fun in a hometown atmosphere.

The Hartville Fall Festival will have many fun activities, crafts, food, & entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Vendors join us from all over the state to take part in our festival. There will be a carnival, games, and a petting zoo for the kids. The day will be filled with great entertainment on the stage, and to follow tradition there will be a parade at 3:30. It will be a day to remember and fun for the whole family.

October 18-19, 2013
115 Park Central Square, Springfield, MO

This is a Springfield Historic Bus Tour Presented by History Museum on the Square where individuals can learn about all things spooky, odd and creepy in Springfield from the comfort of a Fisk Shuttle Bus. Seating is limited, so hurry and reserve a seat (they sell out every year!)

Halloween Spooktacular
October 19-31, 2013
Dickerson Park Zoo, 1401 W. Norton Rd., Springfield, MO

The Spooktacular is a frightfully-fun time with the Festival of Scarecrows, Halloween decorations and hundreds of jack-o-lanterns! Children ages 12 and younger will be able to trick-or-treat for candy around the zoo.  Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

6th Annual Pets and Pumpkins
October 19, 2013
Commercial Street Historic District, Springfield, MO

Two blocks of Historic Commercial Street, between Robberson and Campbell, are sectioned off for the event, which includes, trick or treating (for both human and fur-kids), marshmallow roasting, inflatables, games, food, music and more. Pets and Pumpkins is also host to one of the largest costume parades in SW Missouri. Sponsored by TAME Pet Magazine, both pets and people are invited to enter the walking parade/contest. Salute! Downtown Wine Fest

Drake Harbor/Visitor's Center - Warsaw, MO 65355   

Visit Drake Harbor and the Warsaw Community Building where scores of modern contemporary crafters display and sell their wares. Then celebrate the unique Warsaw area heritage with old-time demonstrations from the 1800s at the Harry S. Truman Visitors Center.

Rockaway Beach Park and Community Center - Rockaway Beach, MO 65740   

This festival features arts and craft booths, wine and cheese tasting, farmers market vendors, a bake sale, pie eating contest and more. 

October 20, 2013 
Glade Top Trail - Ava, MO 65608   

This free annual event features an outdoor church service on the mountain at 10:30 a.m., delicious food served from 11a.m.-2 p.m., and live musical entertainment and fall activities throughout the day. Meal choices include a slow-cooked pulled barbecue pork dinner for $6, a brown beans and ham dinner for $4 or a hot dog dinner for the kids at $3. Beverages are included.
