SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- A trailer fire in Springfield has left one local family displaced for the evening.

When fire crews arrived at the scene on E. Caravan St. in Springfield they could see heavy fire coming from the front side of the trailer in the doorway.

There is minimal damage inside the trailer, but enough to displace the family for the night. There are no injuries to the family, but two cats remain missing from the home.

The Springfield Fire Marshall will be doing an investigation of the home but the fire does not seem suspicious. Battalion Chief, Julie Williams said that at first look it appears to be faulty wiring but the investigation is still ongoing.

Trailer fires tend to burn fast, but crews were able to put out the fire swiftly.

Most of the contents of the home will have smoke damage but they will be able to salvage most of their belongings.
