SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- “Candyland at the Footbridge” is still on for today despite the winter weather. The event has been relocated to Center City Church this year, one block south of Commercial Street.

The event is put on by The Kitchen, Inc. and the Urban Districts Alliance. All children in the Springfield community are welcome to come by today to spend a little bit of time in a Christmas wonderland. Children who attend will receive a warm winter hat and gloves, a small toy, a book, and some candy. The items for children were all donated for the event.

“Candyland at the Footbridge” goes on from noon to 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. This afternoon’s festivity is part of the Festival of Lights, here’s a link to the festival’s printable calendar.
