Nature Center Celebrates Anniversary with Fishin' Magicians

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Fishin' Magicians are coming back to Springfield this weekend to help celebrate a milestone for the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Sometimes you need a little magic to catch a fish..  And sometimes you need magic to be entertained while waiting for that fish.

The Fishin' Magicians are coming back to Springfield this weekend to help celebrate a milestone for the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.

The Nature Center is marking its 25th anniversary on Saturday, October 5, with several special events, including an appearance by the comedy team of Steve Craig and Amy Short - who are magicians with an act centered around fishing.

KOLR10's Justin Dougherty was with Steve and Amy Wednesday morning for a preview of some of their magic, including a scary-looking stunt from Amy.
Watch the video above to see if you can figure out how she does it!

More about the Fishin' Magicians:

Our shows include a humorous mix of magic and mystery. We use traditional and unique props to perform classic and original magic and adapt the shows to each audience - adults, families or students. We put the magic in fun, fishing and learning.
Family Month 1996 at the Nature Center included the premiere performance of the Fishin' Magicians. Since then, they have entertained outdoor enthusiasts from coast to coast performing their magic with a humorous fishing theme. Whether you like to catch fish, clean fish, or can spell fish, you'll be delighted with their program. All ages. No registration required.
