SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri State Board of Governor's executive committee has reinstated women's tennis to the Bears athletic lineup Wednesday.

The sport was dropped in 2006, but was brought back in order to keep MSU in line with Title IX requirements. The first matches will be in 2014.

Remember the executive committee was also looking at other womens sports like sand volleyball, bowling and lacrosse.

Missouri State may add one of those other sports at a later date.

The Bears have 17 intercollegiate sports, 11 of them are womens teams.
