Mizzou Meets SEC Media

Mizzou coach Gary Pinkel met with the media at the annual SEC football media days.
HOOVER, Ala--Football season may not officially kick off for another couple of weeks.

But it's always football season in the SEC.

And believe it or not, the SEC kicked off media days Tuesday.

More than a thousand reporters have gathered in Hoover, Alabama for the annual event.

And the Mizzou Tigers were among the teams meeting the press on day one.

Gary Pinkel's Tigers are coming off their first losing campaign in nine years.

The coach will start his 13th season at the Tiger helm and says Hillcrest product Dorial Green-Beckham will be a big part of Mizzou's success in 2013.

Gary Pinkel/Mizzou Coach:"He has to touch the football.  Now there's going to be a number out there that we're going to try to reach every week.  I'm not about to tell you what that number is because I don't want to talk about it every Monday.  But he has to touch the football.  The more he touches the football, the better we're going to be.  He's a better player than a year ago.  We saw glimpses as the year went on.  He's a very special athlete, he's a good kid.  He has a great work ethic."
