SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones will visit Springfield Thursday afternoon to discuss some of the legislature’s right to life priorities for the 2014 session at the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center, 1342 E. Primrose St. Ste. C at 3 p.m.

Jones plans to discuss his Worker Conscience Protection legislation, which is similar to HB 457 that he filed in 2013. The bill would ensure that no physician, nurse, or any other health care professional would be required to participate in any medical procedure that violates their conscience.

Jones also plans to discuss the Women's Health Care Protection Act sponsored by state Rep. Kathy Swan. The bill would allow the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to conduct inspections and investigations of any abortion facility as it deems necessary.
