JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The amber alert that was issued Tuesday evening for a missing Missouri boy has been cancelled.
Law enforcement officials say that information indicates that both the child and his abductor are dead.

Jefferson City Police say that Markell Beasley, 6, was initially allowed by his mother to attend a holiday party with his father, Demetrius Beasley.
The child's mother found out after receiving a phone call from Demetrius that there was no holiday party and that he did not plan to return the child.

At that time police issued the alert and began to search for the location of the endangered child.
Law enforcement agencies worked with Jefferson City Police Detectives as well as the FBI to locate Markell Beasley and his father.

Police recieved information on the evening of December 24th indicating that the two were in Cape Girardeau.
Law enforcement officials in Cape Girardeau responded to a shots fired call on the same evening. Police responded to the location of the call and found Markell and Demetrius both deceased.
