The Nikkei is up 210 points today in Tokyo.
On Wall Street, stocks had their best day since January as lawmakers appeared closer to a deal to break the deadlock in Washington.
the Dow soared 322 points.
And the Nasdaq rallied nearly 83.

Starbucks is mixing politics with business. Beginning today, it will ask customers and businesses to sign a petition in its stores,  calling for reopening the government, paying debts on time and passing a long term budet deal by the end of the year.

Big banks begin reporting their quarterly results today.   Expect to hear from JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo.

Blackberry's founder, Mike Lazaridis, is considering buying the struggling smartphone company he started.  No word on a takeover price. Last month, Blackberry's largest shareholder, Fairfax Financial, said it was also considering buying the company for $4.7 billion.

And T-Mobile wants to shake up the wireless industry with a little help from Shakira. The company has tapped the pop singer to help promote its new simple choice plan. It eliminates fees for using data and texting services in more than a hundred countries an it caps charges for international calls so you won't get hit with  roaming fees when traveling abroad.
