Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Possessing Illegal Firearm

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Seth Eugene Henderson, 40, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a loaded Hi-Point 9mm pistol.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Seth Eugene Henderson, 40, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for possessing a loaded Hi-Point 9mm pistol.

The Reeds Spring man was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips. 

Henderson pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm on June 26th, 2013. He admitted that he was in possession of the firearm on December 19, 2012. On that date Henderson was the passenger in a stolen truck that eluded law enforcement officers during a pursuit. 

Henderson fled from the truck while carrying the firearm, he was chased and eventually subdued by law enforcement officers. 

Under federal law it is illegal for anyone who is convicted of a felony to possess ammunition or a firearm. 

Henderson has two prior felony convictions for distributing a controlled substance as well as prior felony convictions for manufacturing or possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, burglary and possession of a chemical with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance.
