SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A 60 year old Springfield man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two young female relatives has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for statutory sodomy and seven years for attempted child molestation, according to information from the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney.

Scott W. Blair was sentenced today in Greene County Circuit Court in connection with incidents reported to police in 2012, prosecutor Dan Patterson said. He also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The sentences are to run concurrently, Patterson said in a news release.

Blair admitted guilt to first-degree charges of statutory sodomy, attempted statutory sodomy,  child molestation and attempted child molestation of one girl ages 6 to 8 at the time of the abuse about eight years ago.

That girl never reported the abuse at the time, but became concerned about seven years later when her younger sister was spending a lot of time with the man. She told her mother about the incidents and the girl’s parents contacted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Patterson said.

In the case involving the second girl,  Blair pleaded guilty to two counts of statutory sodomy and child molestation.
