CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. -- A man whose body was found in Busiek State Forest on Thursday, Nov. 14, died of an apparent suicide, according to Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle.

No official confirmation has been made, but the body was believed to be that of a Stone County man reported as missing since Monday.

Kyle said the man had been identified, but referred questions about his identity to Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader.

Rader said it is his policy not to release any information about suicides.

Investigators said earlier they used the man's cell phone to locate him and launched a search of the woods late Wednesday.

The body was located about 11 a.m. Thursday.

KOLR10 does not typically report on suicides as per policy. However, the cause of death for the man found was unconfirmed at the time of broadcast and publication.
