Man Arrested for Stealing from Elderly Victims

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A man is in jail after he allegedly told several elderly people he would be providing home improvement or maintenance services in their homes and then stole from them.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A man is in jail after he allegedly told several elderly people he would be providing home improvement or maintenance services in their homes and then stole from them.

According to a press release for the Springfield Police Department, Stacy R. Eason, 46, of Houston, Mo. was arrested Wednesday morning at a hotel at 2455 N. Glenstone. Eason reportedly confessed to committing the 11 crimes police questioned him about, including stealing jewelry, cash, credit cards and more from wallets while inside each victim’s home.

Eason had accumulated nine warrants for charges of burglary, exploitation of the elderly and stealing from numerous counties, according to the release. These counties and towns include Greene, Jasper, Hickory, Polk, Chilicothe, Springfield, Vienna and Willard.

Eason was formally charged by the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office with four counts of first degree burglary, two counts of second degree burglary, two counts of felony stealing and three counts of misdemeanor stealing.

He currently awaiting trial in the Greene County Jail on a bond of $150,000
