Local Pros Say Being Aggressive Is Key To Qualifiers

Local pros know the scores will be low at the PCCC qualifiers.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Price Cutter Charity Championship officially tees off on Thursday at Highland Springs Country Club, but Monday many will attempt to qualify for the Web.com event either at Rivercut or Millwood.

Springfield native Kevin Kring qualified in 2012. He and Ozark-native and fellow pro Will Hogan stopped by Ozarks Sports Show to chat with host Nick Carboni.

"You've just got to shoot a ton under par," said Kring. "There's so many good players out there. To have 120 guys, and only 6 guys get in, I'm thinking I have to shoot 8 under par, and anything less than that is probably a failure. So you've just got to go at every single pin, make every putt and be aggressive."

Hogan: "I think that you have to go out and have fun and make as many birdies as you can. You can get caught up and you can shoot 3 or 4 under in a qualifier, which is good, but it's good enough. So you can be playing well and not make it. So just go out and have fun and shoot as low as you can."
