Local Attorney Charged with Kidnapping, Concealed Weapon Violation

According to court documents, Rita Sanders, an attorney with the Ticket Center Law Office, may have acted illegally while assisting a bail bond agent.
REEDS SPRING, Mo. -- A local attorney is facing charges after participating in a hunt for a fugitive more than one year ago.

Court documents indicate Rita Sanders, an attorney with the Ticket Center Law Office, accompanied a bail bonds agent named Myra Cox, who was trying to locate someone who skipped bail.

The probable cause statement from the Stone Co. Circuit Court says Cox notified local law enforcement, and that a Reeds Spring police offer arrived to assist them at the motel.

According to the documents, Sanders "covered" the subject in the hotel room while Cox and the officer searched the area. Sanders is not a licensed bail bondsman and the Missouri State Highway Patrol says she does not have a conceal and carry permit.

She's facing kidnapping, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon charges.
