Lady Bears Welcome Mizzou To JQH

The Missouri State Lady Bears will host Mizzou Thursday night.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Lady Bears will continue their three game homestand Thursday night when the Mizzou Tigers come to JQH Arena.

It's the first time in nearly a decade that the Tigers have ventured down to Springfield to play against the Lady Bears.

The last time was in december of 2004 when Missouri State won by 22 points.

Last year the two played at Mizzou Arena in Columbia and the Tigers won 91-77.

Mizzou is 10-1 this season and will be a challenge for the Lady Bears.

It's only the sixth meeting between the two rivals since 1990.

"I think it's a great rivalry for our fans and this state," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.  "I hope it's something that can continue.  I think it can be a positive thing for us.  Obviously we want to come out and compete.  We want to play well.  It's going to be a huge challenge for us this year."
