Lady Bears Prep for Lady Backs

Lady Bears will hit the road to face an unbeaten Arkansas team.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri State Lady Bears will hit the road Friday night to face Arkansas. It's the second straight road game for the Lady Bears who lost to IUPUI at Indianapolis 76-65.

On the plus side, Sophomore Kenzie Williams will take a hot hand into the contest after being named MVC player of the week.

She averaged a little more than 20 points in a three game span last week. The lady bears want to try and get out to a fast start on the road against an unbeaten Lady Back team. Arkansas has won each home game by an average of 34.5 points.

"Well I think defensively they are doing a really good job this year of keeping their offensive opponents production down. I think a lot of that has to do with their length and how they play defensively. They are not going to let you get easy buckets," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.

"We have to box out. I mean our defense is legit. We have a good defense. She has plenty of different defensive things for us to do. And i think if we just go out there and play and have confidence in our selves we will be perfectly fine," said Lady Bears guard Tyonna Snow.
