Lady Bears Drop MVC Home Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Missouri State Lady Bears lose their conference opener to Wichita State.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Sunday, the Lady Bears opened up conference play against the Wichita State Shockers

The game being played at the Q where it was "We Back Pat Night" for Alzheimer's awareness in dedication to famous Vols coach Pat Summit.

Both head coaches former players for the great coach Summit.

Lady Bears Kenzie Williams dishes it to Bry Snow with the finish. 43-39 Shockers.

Then, Shockers Alex Harden dribbling and finds an opening for the take. 49-41 Wichita State.

Lady Bears great ball movement on the extra pass to Bry Snow on the cut. That makes it 78-62 Shockers.

Jamillah Bonner crosses and scores for the Shockers as they start to pull away 84-64.

Late in the game Shockers Jaleesa Chapel gets the steal and takes it the other way for the basket.

Wichita State goes on to win it 98-68.

"Yeah, they are a tough team and they played tough the whole 40 minutes. That is something we needed to match today. We had spurts I think we just needed to play the whole 40 minutes as tough as they did," said Lady Bears guard Kenzie Williams.

"You know, just disappointed we weren't competitive all the way through the end of that game. I thought we showed spurts that were good, thought we showed spurts that matched their toughness but we didn't do enough," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.
