Man Sought in Weekend Knife Assault

WINONA, MO. – A man allegedly involved in an assault on another man in Winona Saturday is being sought on suspicion of first-degree felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Winona, Missouri Police Department.

A 30-year-old man from Hot Springs, Ark., suffered a non-life threatening knife wound to the rear left shoulder, police said, in an altercation at a motel in the 500 block of South Lindsey Road in Winona.

The victim, who was taken to a local hospital, was treated and released, and officers conducted a search for the alleged attacker who had fled from the scene on foot, police said.

He was not located and a probable cause statement was sent to the Shannon County Prosecuting Attorney seeking formal charges against the man, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
